CPR Facilitator Class for Illinois Teachers

Price:  $235

Description:  Participants will gain experience and knowledge about non-certification CPR instruction that can be used to teach classes to students at the elementary, middle, and high school levels.

We will present resources geared toward teaching CPR to specific age groups and universal tools that can be used for any group.  We will cover current CPR procedures, class formats, and evaluation of student performance.   Updates to CPR, AED use, and First Aid will also be covered.  We will also cover the Good Samaritan Act for Illinois and how it applies to you as an Instructor as well as to the students you teach.

Materials to conduct the American Heart Association Family & Friends program will be available for purchase.   The AHA Facilitator Guide & DVD Set is $35 and student manuals are $2 each.  Manikins, AED trainers, and other resources will be available for you to work with.  These are not included in the course fee.  Information on purchase and rental of equipment will be presented.  You can also find information here:

Time Commitment: 4 hour class

To maintain your facilitator credential, you are required to teach at least two classes per year and submit completed rosters to our office.

Prerequisite: Current CPR Card.  This is often offered at 8:00am before the 10:00am instructor class so they can be scheduled together.
