Course Completion Card: A two year American Safety & Health Institute card is issued upon successful completion.
This class meets the requirements for DCFS and NAECY (National Association for the Education of Young Children) accreditation for child care centers when all componets are included.
Prerequisite: None.
Description: This class covers procedures for adults (8 years of age +), children (1 – 7 years of age), and infants (under 1 year of age).
Pediatric First Aid Topics include procedures to handle:
Medical Emergencies, such as asthma attacks and diabetic emergencies
Injuries, such as burns and cuts and scrapes
Environmental Emergencies, such as allergic reactions
While the class meets requirements for daycare providers and other childcare workers, it is also open to parents, family members, nannies, and babysitters.
